Upcoming Events and Shows

In the next few months we are holding a Performing Arts taster workshop (perfect if you want to just ‘try it out’), a film-making workshop (click here for leaflet) and our Summer Prom. The Shoebury group is also performing their character-driven play called ‘Our Town’ on Wednesday 8th July—don’t miss it!

Upcoming Projects

Nutcracker Quest: Starting this June, the Juniors are working on a fantastical show which explores fantasy lands and introduces amazing characters—with a Christmas theme, this project will conclude with a performance in December 2009.

Whose Line is it Anyway?: Also starting in June, the seniors will be improving their acting skills and polishing up their improvisation, ready for an on-the-spot performance, based on the hit TV show ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ to be performed in early December, this show will feature audience participation and much spontaneity!

Shoebury Drama: In September, the Shoebury group will start a new musical project which will be decided by group members—think Grease, Hairspray, or even… HSM!!!

Film-making Project: Funded by Grassroots Grants

PYT has been given grant funding for a series of film-making and editing workshops continuing until 2010. The next workshop will be on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th July, and will be suitable for beginners aged 8 to 14. A workshop for older students is coming up later in the year, plus a one-day editing workshop.

This project is funded by ‘Grassroots Grants’
which is managed by the Essex Community Foundation

Midsummer Ball!

On Saturday 20th June, all PYT and LYT members are invited to dance the night away at our fabulous themed prom. Dress is formal or fantasy (think Midsummer Night’s Dream) and there are prizes for best dressed, best dancer and much more! Contact us for details.
